MCBW START UP

Exhibition at Munich Airport

For the first time ever, bayern design is presenting the work of young entrepreneurs at the MCBW START UP – Innovation and Design! exhibition at Munich Airport. At the exhibition, which will open one month prior to the start of MCBW and run until April 20, selected design start-ups will showcase their innovative products and services (Terminal 2, Level 04, Check-in Area South). Sponsored by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, the founders’ platform, MCBW START UP, provides a springboard for numerous next-generation entrepreneurs and offers professionals a meeting place.

Design skills and creative techniques are key drivers of innovation. Design methods are important for companies developing innovative products and services at any given project stage. These innovative yet sustainable concepts that break new ground and at the same time have practical value are in great demand by the corporate sector and society. Start-ups play important roles as they introduce future-oriented approaches, rethink business segments, and open up new markets with their innovative products.

In 2020, the sixth MCBW START UP founders’ platform for enterprises and designers, again initiated by bayern design, will be supporting the introduction of start-ups and the conveyance of design skills to founders in a targeted manner. The exhibition offers a broad spectrum of young start-ups active in the fields of architecture, branding, digitization, interior design, recreation, mobility, fashion, and virtual reality. The projects contributed to the exhibition illustrate the integrative role of design in the process of ideation and the development of innovative products and business models.

The following start-ups will be presented: 4tiitoo, ACM Adaptive City Mobility, Aerofoils, Annu, Cosinuss, flissade, HEAVN, Höfats, Pfeffer & Frost, Sandhelden, Sono Motors, UrmO, and WYE Design.

The exhibition will be complemented by a symposium on INNOVATION AND DESIGN scheduled for March 10. Top-caliber keynote speakers will discuss innovation, the future, and business establishment. In addition, the workshops in the TOOLS FOR FOUNDERS series conducted throughout the duration of MCBW will include coaching sessions and lectures on how to develop and establish start-ups successfully.

The objective of the comprehensive MCBW START UP agenda is to inspire visitors and encourage them to integrate innovations and offbeat design methods into their personal and professional lives.
