Design Con­nects

With the film “DESIGN CON­NECTS — Cre­ative Minds In Bavaria” bay­ern design presents the inno­v­a­tive pow­er and cre­ativ­i­ty of Bavaria at the EXPO Dubai. It will be shown as a loop at CAM­PUS GER­MANY, the Ger­man pavil­ion at the world exhi­bi­tion, as part of the Bavar­i­an Cul­ture Weeks.

“Cre­atives are valu­able and ground­break­ing con­nec­tors for busi­ness and soci­ety, because they con­stant­ly recon­nect dif­fer­ent per­spec­tives, needs and demands,” says Nadine Vicen­ti­ni, man­ag­ing direc­tor of bay­ern design. “It was impor­tant to us to demon­strate this impor­tant func­tion of design and design­ers to the inter­na­tion­al audi­ence at the Expo. In Bavaria, we have numer­ous renowned com­pa­nies. And they have under­stood that design makes an enor­mous con­tri­bu­tion to their success.”

The 8‑minute film fea­ture shows design ambas­sadors from var­i­ous regions, indus­tries and insti­tu­tions in Bavaria. In con­cise state­ments, the design­ers for­mu­late exem­plary how design and archi­tec­ture repeat­ed­ly con­nect dif­fer­ent dis­ci­plines, indus­tries, soci­ety and the envi­ron­ment in new ways and cre­ate inno­va­tions in this way.

Par­tic­i­pants includ­ed well-known brand-name com­pa­nies such as BSH Home Appli­ances, Rosen­thal or Puma, start-ups such as Hyper­gan­ic, estab­lished B2B com­pa­nies such as Brain­lab AG and inde­pen­dent agen­cies such as N+P Inno­va­tion Design, Stu­dio TISH as well as the in-house agency Design­works — a BMW Group Com­pa­ny and orga­ni­za­tions such as the Bavar­i­an Cham­ber of Archi­tects and bay­ern design.

The film was com­mis­sioned by the Bavar­i­an Min­istry of Eco­nom­ic Affairs, Region­al Devel­op­ment and Ener­gy. It will be on dis­play at Cam­pus Ger­many, the Ger­man pavil­ion at EXPO in Dubai from Jan­u­ary 31 — Feb­ru­ary 14, 2022.

The Ger­man pavil­ion CAM­PUS GER­MANY is an opti­mistic place of knowl­edge, research and encounter, fac­ing the future. Vis­i­tors can expect impres­sive inno­va­tions from sci­ence, busi­ness and soci­ety around the theme of sustainability.
