Design Connects
Bavaria’s film contribution to EXPO Dubai
With the film “DESIGN CONNECTS — Creative Minds In Bavaria” bayern design presents the innovative power and creativity of Bavaria at the EXPO Dubai. It will be shown as a loop at CAMPUS GERMANY, the German pavilion at the world exhibition, as part of the Bavarian Culture Weeks.
“Creatives are valuable and groundbreaking connectors for business and society, because they constantly reconnect different perspectives, needs and demands,” says Nadine Vicentini, managing director of bayern design. “It was important to us to demonstrate this important function of design and designers to the international audience at the Expo. In Bavaria, we have numerous renowned companies. And they have understood that design makes an enormous contribution to their success.”
The 8‑minute film feature shows design ambassadors from various regions, industries and institutions in Bavaria. In concise statements, the designers formulate exemplary how design and architecture repeatedly connect different disciplines, industries, society and the environment in new ways and create innovations in this way.
Participants included well-known brand-name companies such as BSH Home Appliances, Rosenthal or Puma, start-ups such as Hyperganic, established B2B companies such as Brainlab AG and independent agencies such as N+P Innovation Design, Studio TISH as well as the in-house agency Designworks — a BMW Group Company and organizations such as the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and bayern design.
The film was commissioned by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. It will be on display at Campus Germany, the German pavilion at EXPO in Dubai from January 31 — February 14, 2022.
The German pavilion CAMPUS GERMANY is an optimistic place of knowledge, research and encounter, facing the future. Visitors can expect impressive innovations from science, business and society around the theme of sustainability.
