CANCELLED — Munich Creative Business Week

(MCBW) 2020

München
7. March 2020 – 15. March 2020
08:00 – 22:00

Sustain by Design is the focus of the Munich Creative Business Week 2020. During the biggest design week in Germany from March 7 to 15, 2020, more than 70,000 professionals and citizens interested in design will be inspired by current design themes in Munich and the partner region Landshut and have the opportunity to discuss the big social trends.

The focus “Sustain by Design” takes up the headwords climate change and the transformation of the use of energy, because good design drives ecologic, economic and social sustainability. Six themed clusters – the future of media, work, cities, fashion, digitization, and innovation – will be presented and discussed.

MCBW 2020 key visual
“The key visual of the MCBW exemplifies the effectivity and sustainability of nature’s design in a special way. Through formal and content-related analogies, it produces all manner of connections to the design. Fashion and graphic designers, for example, prefer working with black and white contrasts. The camouflage wrap in the car industry uses the visual confusion of the pattern. Furthermore, formal analogies have been a popular stylistic device in advertising, but also the design of everyday objects. Just think of the citrus press ‘Juicy Salif’ by Philippe Starck or the foam seating sculpture ‘Pratone’ by the Gruppo Strum,” explains Dr. Silke Claus, Managing Director of bayern design, the organizer of the MCBW.

Further information on the background of the key visual, such as the confusing effect of the black and white contrast and the role of the ‘monstera deliciosa’, is available in the MCBW story on the key visual of the MCBW 2020.

Design, conception and idea of the key visual was once again realized by the Munich marketing agency KOCHAN & PARTNER.

Lower Bavarian region of Landshut is regional partner
Munich Creative Business Week regularly enters into partnerships with a region in Bavaria. In addition to the main location in Munich, the partner region has a special focus. In 2020 and 2021, the Lower Bavarian region of Landshut will be a regional partner of the MCBW. Events for professionals and design aficionados will also be offered here from 7 to 15 March 2020!

The MCBW is also divided into two program areas in 2020: The DESIGN SCHAU! section is aimed at the design-oriented public, while the specialist audience is oriented towards events from the CREATE BUSINESS! section.
