Apply now for fed­er­al award ecodesign

Com­pa­nies of all sizes and from all sec­tors, design­ers and stu­dents can now sub­mit their projects for the Fed­er­al Ecode­sign Award. The com­pe­ti­tion is look­ing for cre­ative design ideas and projects that also meet the high­est eco­log­i­cal stan­dards. The Ger­man Fed­er­al Min­istry for the Envi­ron­ment and the Fed­er­al Envi­ron­ment Agency, togeth­er with the Inter­na­tion­al Design Cen­ter Berlin (IDZ), are invit­ing entries from all over Europe. Appli­ca­tions can be sub­mit­ted until April 18, 2022.

The sub­mis­sions will be eval­u­at­ed in a mul­ti-stage process by a pan­el of design and envi­ron­men­tal experts and a top-class jury. Awards will be giv­en to projects that con­vince with an out­stand­ing envi­ron­men­tal and design qual­i­ty as well as an inno­v­a­tive approach. On Decem­ber 5, 2022, the win­ners will be hon­ored and pub­licly announced at the award cer­e­mo­ny at the Fed­er­al Min­istry for the Environment.

In last year’s com­pe­ti­tion, Viol.Glass and Less Waste Club, two com­pa­nies from Bavaria, also received awards.

Since 2012, the Ger­man Fed­er­al Min­istry for the Envi­ron­ment (BMUV) and the Ger­man Fed­er­al Envi­ron­ment Agency (UBA) have award­ed the Fed­er­al Ecode­sign Prize annu­al­ly in coop­er­a­tion with the Inter­na­tion­al Design Cen­ter Berlin (IDZ). The high­est state award for eco­log­i­cal design is pre­sent­ed in four cat­e­gories: prod­uct, ser­vice, con­cept and new­com­er. The IDZ is respon­si­ble for the devel­op­ment and imple­men­ta­tion of the competition.
