Apply now for federal award ecodesign
Companies of all sizes and from all sectors, designers and students can now submit their projects for the Federal Ecodesign Award. The competition is looking for creative design ideas and projects that also meet the highest ecological standards. The German Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency, together with the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ), are inviting entries from all over Europe. Applications can be submitted until April 18, 2022.
The submissions will be evaluated in a multi-stage process by a panel of design and environmental experts and a top-class jury. Awards will be given to projects that convince with an outstanding environmental and design quality as well as an innovative approach. On December 5, 2022, the winners will be honored and publicly announced at the award ceremony at the Federal Ministry for the Environment.
In last year’s competition, Viol.Glass and Less Waste Club, two companies from Bavaria, also received awards.
Since 2012, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV) and the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) have awarded the Federal Ecodesign Prize annually in cooperation with the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ). The highest state award for ecological design is presented in four categories: product, service, concept and newcomer. The IDZ is responsible for the development and implementation of the competition.
