As users of social media or as avatars in the metaverse, we deal with the design of digital identities every day. Digital platforms enable freedom, diversity and inclusivity in the design of one’s own appearance, but also create new social conventions and visual codes.
To make the idea of digital identities physically tangible, we are showing an interactive light installation on Klarissenplatz. Visitors slip into identities designed by artists and control their avatars, which are projected onto the glass façade of the Neues Museum.
Featured digital artists are Tim Gerritsen, Darien Brito, Kaoru Tanaka and Yves Peitzner.
July 7 — 9, 2022, from sunset (approx. 9:30 p.m.) until midnight at the Neues Museum, Klarissenplatz Nuremberg.
