Advanc­ing the world of design

bay­ern design invites every­body to share ideas about advanc­ing the world of design so they can be eval­u­at­ed for fund­ing by the Bavar­i­an State Min­istry of Eco­nom­ic Affairs, Region­al Devel­op­ment and Ener­gy. We are hap­py to help with sub­mis­sions for talks, work­shops, instal­la­tions, or oth­er for­mats. Eli­gi­ble appli­cants include asso­ci­a­tions, reg­is­tered soci­eties, lim­it­ed lia­bil­i­ty com­pa­nies, and part­ner­ships (Gesellschaften bürg­er­lichen Rechts, GbRs). Appli­ca­tions – the what and how of funding

Fund­ed activ­i­ties must enhance com­pa­nies’ design exper­tise and thus strength­en their com­pet­i­tive­ness. Planned projects must not be fea­si­ble with­out the request­ed fund­ing and can only com­mence once approval is grant­ed, but an ear­ly start may be request­ed. The fol­low­ing busi­ness-relat­ed events may receive funding:

  • Design talks: €2000 flat rate – require­ments: 2 hours’ dura­tion, 2 speak­ers, 30 participants
  • Forums for entre­pre­neurs: €5000 flat rate – require­ments: 4 hours’ dura­tion, 4 speak­ers, 60 participants
  • Pub­lic-fac­ing, busi­ness-relat­ed projects in the form of stud­ies, sem­i­nars, work­shops, par­tic­i­pa­tion in trade fairs, or oth­er inno­v­a­tive for­mats: up to 50% of the cost eli­gi­ble for funding

Fit for for­eign markets

As part of the Fit for For­eign Mar­kets – Go Inter­na­tion­al project, mid-mar­ket enter­pris­es in Bavaria that have not, or only mar­gin­al­ly, engaged in for­eign trade can receive sup­port for open­ing up new sales chan­nels and mar­kets. The project is imple­ment­ed by cham­bers of com­merce and indus­try in Bavaria, crafts cham­bers, and the For­eign Trade Cen­ter Bavaria (AWZ) and is spon­sored by the Bavar­i­an State Min­istry of Eco­nom­ic Affairs, Region­al Devel­op­ment and Ener­gy.
