Our program

Events and much more

At bayern design we provide professionals from diverse fields with design-centered support and connections. To this end, we organize events, exhibitions, and participation in trade fairs, and we support vocational training and research in the field of design. We ensure that all our formats provide ample opportunities for networking and establishing new contacts.

business panels

How can companies improve their products, services, communication, and marketing with the help of design? Our business panels set out to explore answers to this question. Offered in cooperation with the regional chambers of commerce and industry, the panels address business owners, CEOs, and design professionals alike. Jointly with experts, we present new design-driven solutions to current challenges in corporate management. The events are held throughout Bavaria.

perspectives by design

Our perspectives by design format aims at viewing design from new angles. We work with experts in the fields of science, business, and design to assess relevant topics from interdisciplinary perspectives with the goal of shedding light on the broad connections of design. Past topics include the role of aesthetics, circularity, and the future of creativity in times of artificial intelligence.

open house

Our open house format is all about inspiration and exchange. Our members open their businesses to the design community to ignite dialog through their work. From agencies to manufacturers, all our open-house events focus on learning about work processes and outcomes and meeting people. Most recently, we visited BMW Group, Leonhard Kurz, Steelcase, and the stilbezirk and Fluid agencies.

Trade fairs

Trade fairs are where the corporate world comes together, deals are made and innovations are introduced. Whether at trade fairs for automotive, beverages, or packaging, we regularly offer presentations, lectures, and tours (Designwalks) and inform our audience about good and sustainable design.

Exhibitions

Design is an integral part of museums. Diving in and opening minds – exhibitions and events offer excellent opportunities to engage with the public. Through collaborations with institutions such as Nuremberg’s Neues Museum and Kunsthalle, we provide insights into current design assignments, trends, and possibilities.

design campus

Design is part of the curriculum of close to 25 universities and academies in Bavaria. We created our design campus networking event to foster dialog and exchange among design professors at all types of academic institutions across the state. Every year, a different institution participates in hosting design campus.

Research texts

If you are eager to learn more about design, trends, and new methods, we invite you to explore our research text category regularly for articles written by selected experts in the field, research, and the corporate world. What are the advantages of design management for your business? What trends in sustainable packaging design have been identified? What are collaborative design processes? While design is many things, it is not always entirely self-explanatory. We want our research texts to help you stay up to date and understand design even better. Access our research texts here.

Studies

Our studies show our commitment to making transparent the meaning of design for the corporate world. To this end, we work with acclaimed scientists and leading companies to examine design’s mechanisms of action in business practice. Our two most recent studies provide robust empirical evidence of a clear link between design and business success.
