bayern design will host the ‘Open minded to new visions’ stand in the Open Space at IAA Mobility 2021 from September 7 to 12 at Kaiserhof at the Munich Residence. The stand will showcase innovative forms of mobility which good design techniques and new technologies designed, developed, and made experienceable with agility, open-mindedness, and visionary vigor.

On April 1, 2021, Nadine Vicentini became the new managing director of bayern design GmbH, Bavaria’s center for design competence and organizer of Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW).
MCBW START UP Design for Change

As part of the MCBW START UP platform, beginning March 6 sustainable, trailblazing and inspirational solutions and design approaches originating in Bavaria will be presented in a digital exhibition and discussed in a hybrid symposium. First and foremost, the digital exhibition will showcase ecologically sound and socially responsible products along with digital and technological applications. Initiated by bayern design, MCBW START UP fosters targeted dialog among design-oriented start-ups, designers, business experts, and the general public. The platform will be offered during Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) which will take place in a predominantly digital form from March 6 through 14 this year.
“time to rethink – Design Edition” – Now Online at BrauBeviale 2020

Nuremberg, Germany – At the BrauBeviale 2020 trade fair, bayern design, the State of Bavaria’s center of design competence, will host an entirely digital exhibition for the first time. Small-batch series will be the theme of time to rethink – Design Edition, a showcase of exhibits and videoed interviews with select designers and experts.
MCBW 2020 ends prematurely

Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) 2020 ends prematurely: Yesterday evening, the German Chancellor made a public call to cancel smaller events with less than 1,000 participants, thereby minimizing social contacts as a whole. As of today, the Bavarian authorities still tolerate events with up to 500 participants. Nonetheless, the MCBW team has asked the program partners to postpone or cancel their remaining MCBW events at short notice. The next MCWB will take place from 6 to 14 March 2021.
MCBW START UP – Innovation and Design!

The MCBW START UP exhibition at Munich Airport is offering a foretaste of Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), the largest design event in Germany. From February 6 through April 20, 2020, selected design start-ups will showcase their design projects covering everything from sustainability to innovative applications.

The Smart Living exhibition organized by bayern design and Munich Airport addresses topics relevant to modern society. The exhibition will run until January 31, 2020 at Terminal 2, Level 04, Check-In Area South at Munich Airport.

Higher, faster, farther – the ever-increasing number of ways to participate in physical activities has resulted in a shift in the definition of sports. Sports equipment designed to be the interface between people and technology is paramount and defines the space for interaction and perception. bayern design, the center of design competence in Bavaria, has dedicated Discoverers, the fourth component of the exhibition series Bayern gestaltet / Bavaria designs, to sports. The objectives are to introduce innovative materials and wearables and to illustrate the amalgamation of sports and gaming in nine forward-looking projects co-created by companies in Bavaria. Discoverers will be open to the public from September 30 through November 21, 2019.
