The International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) in Shenzhen is China’s largest and most influential trade fair for the cultural and creative sectors. ICIF is a platform on which products made in China are exhibited to present them to the world and establish them in global markets. Jointly with Sphinx Culture and Communication Co. Ltd., bayern design will host the German Design Spirit – Best of Bavaria exhibition at ICIF in May.
German Design Spirit – Best of Bavaria will be accessible to the public from May 14 to 18 at Shenzhen’s City of Design. Developed as a travelling showcase of products and projects from Bavarian companies to illustrate design made in Germany, the exhibition also will be presented in other Chinese cities through September 2015. Companies and artists whose works will be exhibited include aeris, Arzberg Porzellan, Auerberg, BMW Group, Brandis Industrial Design, brodbeck design, Clemens Weisshaar, Corpus-C-Design Agentur, Crown Gabelstapler, Cybex, Dauphin HumanDesign Group, designaffairs, DesignworksUSA, Die Krieger des Lichts, Die Neue Sammlung, Faber-Castell, Florian Schmid, f/p design, Fritz Frenkler, Gerwin Schmidt, Herbert Schultes, Hyve Innovation Design, Kochan & Partner, Loewe, Lunar Europe, Markus Bischof Produktdesign, Mirko Borsche, N+P Industrial Design, neomind, Nils Holger Moormann, Playmobil, Puma, Richard Sapper, Rosenthal, Schlagheck Design, Stabilo, Staedtler Mars, stauss processform, Steffen Kehrle, tado, Thomas Mayfried, and Munich Technical University.
The exhibition will be divided into four themed sections: Design is Innovation, Design is Culture, Design is Dialog, and Design is Attitude. Design is Innovation will focus on future-oriented developments to illustrate how innovation, technology, and design must interplay to facilitate sustainable solutions that will persist in the market. In the Design is Culture section, the exhibits will sensitize visitors to our environment by picking up on and challenging habits and proposing new ideas for solutions. Design is Dialog will use new paths of communication to exemplify how design can be a bridge between companies and their customers in increasingly global relationships. In the fourth section, Design is Attitude, the exhibitors will express their attitudes in a variety of ways – experimenting with materials and forms, anticipating trends, and initiating momentum for the industrial sector.
