Nuremberg, Germany – From emojis to skyscrapers, from chairs to satellites – nearly everything we interact with today has been designed. What defines good design? What must design be able to achieve in the context of transformation in the environment and society or technological advancement? These are the questions explored in the exhibition design connects. What design can achieve. Design has long since moved beyond shaping surfaces and forms. Today, it influences every aspect of our daily lives, how we live together, and how we interact with nature. Good design connects.
What design can achieve From inclusive mobility to participatory urban spaces, from renewable energy solutions to hospital environments that promote well-being, the exhibition examines the potential of design from numerous perspectives: Design fosters participation in a diverse society, provides orientation in an increasingly complex world, merges interests, and generates innovative solutions. Through insights, examples, and expert voices, the exhibition shows what design can achieve and how it works.
Nine fascinating exhibits in an impressive presentation Nine exhibits offer a fascinating cross-section of this diversity on just under 75 square meters – clearly and powerfully curated. How can modern communication devices be designed so that older generations also can use them intuitively? How can orientation be made easier in complex public buildings? How can good design contribute to a brand’s success? The exhibits offer answers, for example, the innovative Papilio streetlight by Tobias Trübenbacher, a visionary long-distance train concept created by N+P Innovation Design, and Bitten Stetter’s designs for use in palliative care settings. These works prove that good design is both attractive and an essential tool for shaping a livable future.
The exhibition room will be located on the ground floor.
