Munich Creative Business Week 2016 made a grand entry. On February 17, 2016, print, online, radio and TV journalists gathered at the MCBW 2016 Media Day at BMW Pavilion in Munich for the first-ever media preview of the largest design event in Germany. Handling and interacting was expressly encouraged!
Dr. Silke Claus, Managing Director of bayern design GmbH, inaugurated the press event, emphasizing the highlights and innovations of MCBW 2016. In addition to politicians and representatives of the corporate sector, the journalists were introduced to participants from the Netherlands, the partner country of this year’s MCBW.
At the MCBW 2016 Media Day, the representatives of the media were introduced to the claim of MCBW 2016 – Design Connects Visions For Economy – and learned about the specific conflicts between innovation and design, ethics and design, and crafts and design from presentations and exhibits. Contributors included representatives of the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria, the design center iF International Forum Design, iF UNIVERSAL DESIGN GmbH, innovation creators Hyve, MCBW Forum, Neue Sammlung, Neue Werkstätten, the Dutch design industry, Rosenthal, and Verband deutscher Industriedesigner (VDID). The media received a detailed impression of the program of MCBW 2016 with close to 190 events.
In cooperation with Fedrigoni, Italian manufacturer of fine papers, Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode presented spectacular apparel made of paper. The entire collection will be showcased at the MCBW Reception on February 22, 2016 at BMW Welt.
